As a response to the Covid-19 Crisis, AACT has put together a series of webinars to help theatres navigate this tumultous time. Webinars are free and open to all.

A note from the president of the board at WSCTA, Ted Miller

Washington State Community Theatre Companies, Members, and Supporters:

I don’t need to tell you that these are unprecedented and challenging times for community theatres. On behalf of WSCTA as your president and AACT as your State Contact, I want to let you know about a few resources available to you.

AACT teamed up with Hytropy Reverse Disaster to present a Webinar, COVID-19 Recovery for Community Theatres, on March 31, 2020. A recording of the webinar is available on the AACT website aact.org/covid-19-response

Hytropy has an offer for AACT Members: Hytropy's Gold Certification Program for free along with a free threat plan in their mobile app, Disaster Hawk. The Community Theatre Gold Certification Program went live on the app April 4, 2020. More information can be found at aact.org.

Some of you had asked for resources for information sharing and networking. If you have something specific to Washington State, I welcome you to ask questions or share experiences through our WSCTA Facebook page or by contacting me via email.

AACT is also providing resources and has set up a Covid-19 Response page. www.aact.org/covid-19-response.  Here you will find links to help you find answers during this time.

AACT has also set up a Facebook page, Covid-19 Community Theatre Resource Group, (link https://www.facebook.com/groups/2532082613709416)  to help connect the community and share resources. This is now open to member and non-member theatres. Please let me know if you need any help finding the page, and I can arrange to send an invite to the page.

Something else AACT is providing is open access for all theatres to our Resource Roster. This can be found (www.aact.org/resource-roster). AACT will connect you with a professional or expert in community theatre to help you navigate these difficult times.

The AACT Staff has also made themselves available for you. AACT Staff moved to a virtual office system in September of 2019, and are available from 9am to 6pm central time, Monday through Friday. To contact them, call at 817-732-3177, or email at info@aact.org

We on the WSCTA board and members of AACT leadership across the nation are committed to doing all we can to help community theatres through this pandemic. Please reach out to me if there is anything else we can do.

In solidarity,

Ted Miller
President, Washington State Community Theatre Association
State Contact, American Association of Community Theatres
